1. Complete the Online course for beginnners - *Pre-requisite*New Officials - Hockey Canada Officiating Program offered on HCR (when available for New Brunswick HCR members).This is a self-paced introuction to being an on-ice official. The course will save where you left-off and is a pre-requisite for part 2 (in-person course)
2. a. Register on HRC and attend an in-person course in the Fredericton or surounding area (anywhere in NB will do). This coures reviews the online course and covers material specific to officiating in New Brunswick
2. b. Attend on the on-ice portion of the in-person course where instructors will demonstrate examples of face-offs, icings and off-sides. (helmet, whistle, neckguard/throat protector and skates are required).
For new officials who are 18 years-old or older on December 31st - you will need to get a VSC/CRC. This will be required before you can enroll in the in-person course. The process is as follows;
Once you have your VSC (paper or electronic) send a digital copy (scan the letter into a PDF and/or forward the electronic PDF) to the Zone 3 RIC, Bob Hathewey (nbzone3refs@gmail.com) who can update your HCR record.
